#GIVINGTUESDAY

Human trafficking earns profits of approximately $150 billion a year for traffickers including $99 billion from commercial sexual exploitation.

Join us this Giving Tuesday Donate $5, Share 5 HELP us raise $50,000.00

We provide opportunities, resources, and advocacy to minority communities to improve the lives of the poorly served, underserved, never served and those traumatized by the atrocities of human trafficking.

A lack of community awareness and understanding of the dynamics of sex trafficking, coupled with the hidden nature of the crime, make the role of the trafficker/pimp and the recruiter relatively easy and the task of law enforcement much more difficult.

Black women, girls, and gender nonconforming people are disproportionately represented as victims/survivors of trafficking. Black women make up 40% of people who have survived sex trafficking. Black youth comprise 51% of all prostitution arrests for those under age 18—more than any other racial group.

The Dock Ellis Foundation provides access to resources on reporting and recovery planning, serving child victims of sex trafficking, and addressing issues for minorities vulnerable to sex trafficking, including children in foster care and missing and exploited children.

100% of your gift will go towards the mission to end human trafficking and to recover more victims. These funds are used to help people with the many things that come with a loved one going missing — and being found — like searches, awareness, and aftercare. The needs can include something as small as a bit of gas money or candles for vigils, or a larger item such as a flight across the state or a private investigator. The Dock Ellis Foundation will also utilize the funds to help families cover funeral or memorializing of a loved one, all of which can make a big difference to grieving families.

Our volunteers are boots on the ground; we are motivated by the belief that every brown girl lost is returned home, transformed, and restored. We seek to achieve our mission by investing in the following three areas:

Care and community- We go to the streets, into neighborhoods and provide care, establish community, and communicate with those who are less fortunate.

Opportunities that encourage growth & personal empowerment-We meet practical needs through partnership.

Physical security and health- We collaborate with social workers and other services such as drug detox centers, medical facilities, emergency shelters and Safe House facilities.
