Since 7 October 2023, Refugee Biriyani & Bananas has supported over 700,000 people impacted by the Israeli assault and genocide in Gaza, delivering dried food items, fresh vegetables, drinking water, women’s sanitary towels, hygiene products, and emergency supplies in response to urgent and evolving needs.

We work with a trusted, community-led team, with strong local knowledge and networks, enabling us to identify critical gaps quickly and respond in ways that are respectful, effective, and accountable to the communities we support.

Our Track Record in Gaza

Over the past two years, we have consistently delivered aid to Gaza despite extreme access constraints. This includes:

  • Sending four trucks of aid containing flour, food items, and hygiene packs

  • Providing over 100,000 food parcels to families facing acute food insecurity

Since October 2023, more than £300,000 has been spent on food, water, and hygiene aid for Gaza, ensuring continued support as needs escalated.

One of our largest water responses involved a large-scale clean water distribution, where high-quality drinking water was purchased from a local desalination plant. Through this operation:

  • 76 trucks delivered 380,000 litres of clean water

  • 120,000 people received access to safe drinking water

Food and water deliveries have continued throughout 2025, including:

  • The distribution of 2,600 bags of flour (25kg each) to 2,600 families

  • Community-led support activities in the north of Gaza, including treats and essentials distributed to children by our volunteersDistribution of food parcels from truck aid loaded and sent by RBB, carried out by Ahmed (RBB Team Member) in Gaza..

Why £150,000 Is Needed Urgently

The need for food, clean drinking water, hygiene items, and emergency supplies in Gaza remains critical and ongoing. Access routes continue to change, supply chains are disrupted, and the cost of essentials fluctuates rapidly. Raising £150,000 urgently will allow us to:

  • Respond immediately as access opens or conditions shift

  • Purchase and deliver food, water, hygiene items, and emergency supplies without delay

  • Cover changing logistics, transport, and storage costs

  • Maintain consistent distributions through our trusted, community-led team on the ground inside of Gaza; and support people recently evacuated from in urgent need.

Without flexible and immediate funding, opportunities to deliver aid — whether through land routes, local procurement, or maritime sea routes — can be missed.

RBB sent trucks of aid from Cairo & Jerusalem, and purchased water trucks that were distributed by our team inside Gaza.

How We Deliver Aid

We are committed to using every viable and responsible route to keep aid moving, including:

  • Delivering aid by truck whenever land access is possible

  • Purchasing supplies locally, including dried food items and fresh vegetables, to enable faster response and support local markets

  • Exploring maritime sea routes where feasible

We continuously assess conditions on the ground and adapt our approach to use the most effective methods available, prioritising safety, speed, and accountability.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Funds raised through this appeal will support food distributions, access to clean drinking water, essential hygiene items, and emergency supplies, prioritising communities facing severe shortages and limited access to aid.

Alongside direct aid delivery, Refugee Biriyani & Bananas will continue to advocate and raise awareness about the ongoing situation in Gaza, using our platforms and networks to amplify the voices of affected communities and highlight urgent humanitarian needs.

Our team is also committed to being part of humanitarian efforts to challenge the siege and expand access for aid, including:

  • Participation in maritime humanitarian missions, such as flotillas, when feasible

  • Support for land-based aid convoys to push for safe and sustained humanitarian access

By donating, you are supporting both life-saving aid and continued advocacy, helping ensure that food, water, hygiene items, and emergency supplies reach people in Gaza — while also contributing to sustained pressure for humanitarian access and accountability.

RBB CEO Ruhi joined a humanitarian flotilla to challenge the siege and deliver aid to Gaza.
