Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Baby Rai was born in January this year. He lives with his parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and older siblings. Due to the pandemic only two in the home have work.
He was born with hydrocephalus and Dandy-Walker syndrome. His head size ws growing significantly and he urgently needed surgery to place a shunt. Thanks to your help, we were able to raise the funds needed for his shunt and surgery.
Due to his very small size and frailty, baby Rai needed oxygen and very close monitoring in ICU post surgery. We wanted to ensure he received the best care possible. There is now a large hospital bill that needs to be paid to cover his time in ICU.
There is no way his family can afford to pay this and it isn't covered by the government.
Can you help us pay baby Rai's ICU bill? He is alive and doing well because of the care he is receiving.
