Lebanon’s Mental Health Emergency Response

War and displacement are reshaping daily life across Lebanon.

Families are leaving their homes, shelters are overcrowded, and communities are under attack. The psychological toll is immense.

Every day, people across the country reach out for mental health support because they feel overwhelmed, trapped, or alone.

When they reach out, Embrace answers.

As the crisis deepens, the demand for mental health support is rising rapidly. Embrace is mobilizing its teams across Lebanon to respond through crisis intervention, emergency psychiatric care, and support for displaced communities.

Your support helps ensure that no one in Lebanon faces their darkest moments alone.

When Someone Reaches Out for Help

In a single day, our team may hear from:

  • A displaced mother living in a car with her children because shelters are full
  • A teenager who has attempted suicide
  • A family calling from a neighborhood under attack with nowhere safe to go
  • Someone preparing to end their life before choosing to pick up the phone

In Lebanon today, Embrace provides critical emotional support and serves as one of the first points of access to the broader health and social protection system.

Our trained responders provide suicide intervention, crisis support, psychiatric referrals, and connections to humanitarian services.

And during war, these calls only increase.

Impact at a Glance

Each year, Embrace provides critical mental health support across Lebanon:

  • 14,000+ calls answered annually through the National Lifeline
  • 400+ lives saved each year through suicide prevention and intervention
  • 300+ life-critical mental health emergencies responded to by our crisis teams
  • 1,000+ free consultations delivered through the Mobile Mental Health Clinic
  • 5,000+ consultations provided annually through Embrace’s clinical services
  • 7,000+ people reached each year through community outreach and awareness

Together, these services form a mental health safety net for people facing the most difficult moments of their lives.

Responding Across Lebanon

To meet the growing needs created by war and displacement, Embrace is responding through four critical services:

  • National Lifeline (1564)
Operating 24/7, the lifeline provides suicide prevention, emotional support, and crisis intervention.
  • Mobile Crisis Teams
Responders travel to individuals experiencing life-threatening psychiatric crises and coordinate urgent care and hospitalization.
  • Mobile Mental Health Clinic
Psychiatrists and specialists provide free consultations and psychological support in displaced communities and underserved areas.
  • Embrace Mental Health Clinic (EMHCC)
Provides low-cost psychiatric care and follow-up treatment for individuals who require continued support after crisis intervention.

Together, these services ensure that people experiencing acute distress can access both immediate help and ongoing care.
