Dream Beyond Incarceration Scholarship Fund

Providing Skills for a Safer Georgia

Despite best efforts, the State of Georgia currently carries a nearly 50% recidivism rate. Recidivism refers to the likelihood of an individual who has been convicted of a crime and released from prison will return. While many factors play into the role of recidivism, the largest factor of previously convicted persons returning to jail or prison is because they are considered non-employable for many livable-waged jobs. Their opportunities are oftentimes very limited, despite the nature of the crime committed.

However, studies have consistently shown that individuals who participate in educational programs during or after their incarceration are less likely to re-offend. Skills and education that oftentimes re-entering citizens don't have.

Our Solution

Education has the power to transform lives, open doors to opportunities, and break the cycle of recidivism. For previously convicted individuals, access to education can be a crucial factor in their successful reintegration into society. However, financial constraints often limit their ability to pursue education.

Through your giving and donations to Georgia Vocational Solutions' "Dream Beyond Incarceration fund, you are creating a positive impact, not just in their lives, but our communities.

Providing Second Chances

Vocational training and education plays a pivotal role in providing previously convicted individuals with second chances. Through your support, you help provide opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and increased employability.

Building Stronger Communities

Our mission is to train, educate, and empower individuals with disadvantages and criminal records. By providing education and training, their chances of securing stable employment increase. This, in turn, reduces their reliance on social services and improves their economic standing.

For previously convicted individuals, pursuing education can be a transformative experience that helps them rediscover their purpose, talents, and aspirations. By supporting their educational journey through giving and donations, you send a powerful message that everyone deserves a chance for personal growth and fulfillment, regardless of their past mistakes.

Promoting Equity and Social Justice

Access to education and skills development training should be equitable for all members of society, including previously convicted individuals. Your support helps level the playing field and promotes a more compassionate and just society.
