Help pressure President Biden to pardon Steven Donziger →
Almost 15 years ago, Steven stood with Amazon communities in Ecuador against Chevron as they won a landmark $10 billion legal case over the deliberate dumping of cancer-causing oil waste onto indigenous ancestral lands. Chevron then targeted Steven with an unthinkable backlash unprecedented in our nation’s history. Chevron’s ferocious attack campaign made Steven the first person in US history prosecuted and jailed by a private corporation. Chevron also took Steven’s passport, law license, and bank accounts and forced him into detention for almost three years without a jury trial.
Today, we redouble our efforts to fight back. We’re urging President Biden to pardon Steven so he can continue working to secure justice for the Amazon communities of Ecuador. But time is running out.
