According to the office of National Statistics in 2023 the suicide rate was recorded as 5656 which is 372 more suicides than in 2022. 

Men are still more likely to commit suicide than women in the UK. Man Down a suicide prevention charity in Cornwall aims to end the stigma of men committing suicide by providing informal peer support groups where men feel they can talk about their feelings openly without judgement.

I'm Sarah Barker and when I was 18 months old I had an accident which made me paralysed from the neck down. This means that I am on a ventilator 24 hours a day and require 24 hour care.

This year I have taken on the challenge to break a Guinness world record by typing the alphabet using a mouth stick in under 11.36 seconds while raising money for this vital cause.

Please donate any amount you can and help me break this record but most importantly to help break the stigma of men feeling they have to commit suicide.
