Men carry pressure. We ride with it.

From 6th to 20th August, Pressure‑Ride is a long‑distance motorcycle trip from Land’s End to Spain, raising awareness and funds for Man Down UK CIC.

This didn’t start as a charity challenge.
It started as a few mates planning a couple of weeks away on the bikes — good roads, some sun, and a proper break.

When the chance to see the solar eclipse came up, the trip grew. And at that point, it felt right to give it a bit more meaning by raising money for a cause doing important work in men’s mental health.

All donations made through this page go directly to Man Down UK CIC.
The journey itself is supported separately by individuals and businesses.

The Journey

The ride starts at Land’s End and heads east across Cornwall to Plymouth, before crossing to Roscoff.

From there, we ride south through France, taking in sections of the coast before continuing into Spain.

The route includes a stop in northern Spain to witness the total solar eclipse, before returning via the Picos de Europa and the Pyrenees, and then back through France to the UK.

It’s a long, multi‑day road trip covering a wide range of terrain and conditions.

How This Came About

This trip wasn’t designed to be extreme or symbolic.

It’s simply a road trip that evolved — from a bike holiday, to seeing the eclipse, to asking a straightforward question:

If we’re already doing this, why not use it to start some conversations and raise money for a good cause?

That’s where Pressure‑Ride came from.

The Meaning Behind the Ride

Throughout the journey, we’ll be carrying an inflatable passenger.

It represents the pressure many people carry without it being obvious — stress, expectations, responsibility, anxiety. The kind of weight that’s easy to ignore from the outside.

Making that pressure visible isn’t about making a statement.
It’s about starting conversations — quietly and without judgement.

Pressure doesn’t have to be carried alone.

Why Men’s Mental Health?

A lot of men still find it hard to talk openly when things aren’t going well.

The expectation to cope, push on, or deal with things alone can mean problems are left too late.

Man Down UK CIC provides peer support groups where men can talk openly, be listened to, and feel understood — without pressure, labels, or judgement.

That approach felt like the right fit.

Why This Ride?

Because it mirrors real life better than a one‑day challenge.

Some days will be easy and enjoyable.
Others will be uncomfortable or tiring.
Most will sit somewhere in between.

There’s no race and no spectacle — just turning up each day and continuing forward.

Making pressure visible.
Carrying it — and talking about it — along the way.
