My name is Nel. On Thursday 15th August 2013 I came home from my new job at Treliske Hospital to find a suicide note from my wonderful, brave, amazing husband Del. Del had been a Police Officer for 15years before becoming a Paramedic. Sadly he was suffering from PTSD, work related depression and bullying and had been off sick for a few months with no support from the ambulance service. An extensive search was launched but sadly he wasn’t found until 2 weeks later. Who knows if an organisation like Man Down had been available then if the outcome would have been different, but if they can help just 1 man, then that is truly brilliant. We need to recognise men get sad too.
