As many of you know 22 years ago this September I lost my brother at the age of 22. He lost his life in a tragic accident. To this day we will never quite know the circumstances that led to this accident but what we do know is that his teenage years were very difficult for him. He suffered with OCD. He'd probably be up there telling off for saying this out loud because, as far as he was concerned, he was very private about this. He couldn't and didn't want to talk about it and tried to mask his thoughts with anything he could that would make his mind stop and the terrible voices in his head, be quiet. Us, as his family, tried to help him, but back then there was nowhere out there for him and no one, not connected to us, that he could talk too. Even the doctors couldn't help.

This is the reason I have decided to run a 13 mile coastal run to support Man Down. If Ross and his dedicated team were around to say, "Let's talk about it" ,  just maybe he could have got the help he needed. There would have been someone he could have talked to, someone who could have told him he was not a failure because of this, someone who could have helped him believe in himself.  Jonathan was the funniest, kind, most caring boy, that we loved so much. He meant the world to us and all who knew hiim.
