Trekking for Men's Mental Health: A Journey Through Jordan
Hi all,
At the end of April, I will be embarking on a 5-day trek through the incredible landscape of Jordan. This isn't just a personal challenge; it's a mission to raise vital funds for Man Down, an amazing organization dedicated to supporting men's mental health across the UK.
Over the past three years, I've been walking the South West Coast Path, and I've been heartbroken by the number of tributes I've seen for men who have tragically died by suicide. It's a stark reminder of a silent crisis.
As a man and a father to four boys, I believe it's crucial that we break the stigma and encourage men to talk openly about their feelings and emotions. This is why the work that Man Down does is so vital. Based in Cornwall, they provide a safe, judgment-free space for men to share their struggles and connect with others who understand. By fostering these open conversations, they are not just offering support; they are saving lives.
I'm proud to say that my employer, Bentley Systems, is sponsoring this trek. I'll be part of a team of around 18 colleagues, all raising funds for mental health charities.
This is more than just a one-week trek. Our hope is to bring back what we learn about mental health awareness and strategies to our families, friends, and colleagues. We want to inspire healthier living and a better work-life balance for everyone.
Your donation will go directly to helping Man Down continue their life-saving work. Together, we can end the silence.
Thank you for your support.

Very happy to support the work that helps men talk more openly about their emotions, seek professional support, address problems earlier before they escalate, and feel less isolated—leading to improved overall wellbeing.
