This is a critical moment for our public education system. Over the last few years we have learned many lessons about ourselves, our students and our collective resilience as a community. There are old educational practices that will be permanently left in the past and many new ideas on how we can make our educational systems more effective for every student. Either way, after many ideas and iterations, we know that excellent teachers are going to be the cornerstone of any path forward. And yet…
We all know from experience that our teachers and schools deserve more than an apple for appreciation once per year—they deserve sustained action and support through this moment and beyond.
This year we will continue pushing for the modernization of the education profession and the conditions teachers deserve so that all of our schools can thrive in the long term.
It’s an honor to be in this work alongside you.

What are people saying?
“At my current school, I was ready to leave the city and possibly even leave education. But my work with TST and personal growth that I experienced through the program has helped me to see the value that I can bring to urban education and the work I still have to do.” - Jessica Cipicchio, TST Teacher
"TST is honestly priceless- they are a friend when we need a shoulder to cry on or just someone to listen, whether it is with school, work, our team, or life in general. TST has leaders who support us and help us be and do better. They celebrate our wins with us and help us sort through our issues or struggles or work through a problem in an authentic and meaningful way, not just to get it done but to get it done right. TST has remained so realistic through this pandemic and has been a support, a lifeline, and the voices in education that we need." - Steven Clayton, TST Teacher
“My work with TST enlivens my passion for urban education and what is possible for all students” - Brandi Pearman, TST Teacher
