JOIN THE DOLPHIN'S COVE!
SUPPORT YOUR KIDS BY SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOL
As we begin the 2022-2023 school year, we are more eager than ever to support our students and teachers. If a teacher wants to do a special project with their class, we want to be able to say YES! If the library wants to add to their collection, we want to be able to write the check. If a grade level wants to go on a field trip, we want to fund it. If there is an opportunity to bring a visiting artist to the school, we want to make it happen. Unfortunately, Covid has significantly impacted our traditional fundraising, and we need to find ways to supplement those lost dollars.
The OAES PTO has a goal of raising $20,000 through the Dolphin’s Cove so that we can continue to support OAES teachers and students in a variety of ways. The wonderful news is that we have made progress in this effort! Thanks to our Dolphin's Cove donors, we have:
- Provided supplemental funding for the NEW greenhouse and all-weather outdoor learning space
- Furnished the library with ten sets of LEGO BricQ educational materials for grades 1-5 and LEGO STEAM Park sets for Kindergarteners
- Paid membership fees for Ruth’s Reusable Resources, a free store for teachers connecting them with surplus furniture, paper, books, office supplies and computers
- Offered after school spring enrichment classes for students such as improv, yoga, chorus, art, cross country, vocal performance, and Minecraft
- Funded five scholarships for Girls on the Run, a program which inspires girls to build confidence and life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity
- Brought students and families together with community events like the Spring Fair, playground play dates, and Musingo Year-End Celebration
- Supplied funds for illustrator/author visit from Kevin Hawkes
- Sent all fourth graders on a field trip to the planetarium
- Organized monthly teacher appreciation events for OAES staff including an ice cream truck, treats for teachers in the staff room, gift card raffles, and potted lily bulbs
- Paid for classroom and library supplies, including Scholastic, Follett Library Resources, and LetterSchool
