Dodge, Dive, Donate: Supporting Prairie Run Crew Outreach Program

This year Humboldt Electric is honoured to be partnered with Prairie Run Crew Outreach Program to help inspire youth and break down the barriers that inhibit people from starting their running journey.

Our Commitment: On October 24^th, our team will Dodge, Dive and Raise Awareness for a program that aims to inspire youth to commit to healthy and active lifestyles that will enrich their lives.

Foundation of the Prairie Run Crew Program: After years of struggling with addiction and mental health, Tarrant Cross Child leaned on a former hobby of his, running, as a means to start a new positive chapter in his life.  Shortly after committing to, and finishing, a marathon, Tarrant began to hear about the suicide crisis in northern Saskatchewan communities. This hit home for him as he has struggled with mental health and said he even attempted to take his life. So, he wanted to find a way to help others in the province who are also struggling and began hosting trial clinics in northern communities. The running clinic is called Prairie Run Crew Outreach Program Inc. and it offers free clinics to communities and cities across the province, and provides people with free gear such as running shoes and water bottles. The clinic isn’t all about running though, as they have all sorts of activities and practices set up to work on things like footwork and balance. Tarrant also speaks during the clinics, sharing his struggles and triumphs, hoping to serve as an inspiration to others.

Prairie Run Crew’s Mission: At Prairie Run Crew Outreach Program, they bring a message of hope and restoration through living a healthy and active lifestyle. They do this by loving and serving the communities. Their programming is a unique running program that empowers participants to grow and develop as they discover new skills and interests. They strive to create a safe, experience-rich environment that will lead to incredible adventures and endless memories.
