Doctors for Doctors: Ukraine

Because no doctor should face this alone.

Ukrainian clinicians are responding to trauma patterns no medical school prepared them for. Intense drone warfare is causing complex, multi-trauma injuries that demand new and innovative forms of medical care. Doctors on the frontlines become the only lifeline for many, surgical teams improvise with limited resources, and emergency staff must relearn and re-respond every single day.

MedGlobal deploys volunteer doctors to provide the training Ukrainian teams urgently need to navigate this changing landscape.

"You go over there and you know you are facing impossible odds with unmeetable needs, and you do everything in your power that you can." - Dr. Riley Jones, MedGlobal Board Member

Why Doctors Should Support Doctors

Ukrainian doctors are working under pressures most medical professionals will never encounter — yet they continue, because patients depend on them.

"Everybody who has surgical skills is participating and doing their share to help with the care of the trauma patients." - Dr. Michael Samotowka, MedGlobal Board Member

Doctors in Ukraine are adapting and modernizing trauma care in real time.

"The cases I have seen in Ukraine are extremely challenging. The kind of problems they've got: infections, the antibiotic resistance, the extremities, the bone loss, everything is very, very difficult. - Dr. Hudson Berry, MedGlobal Board Member

This campaign is about strengthening the medical workforce, so Ukrainian clinicians have the skills, knowledge, and tools to deliver safe, effective care under extraordinary circumstances.

What MedGlobal Provides

MedGlobal’s mission is clear: equip Ukrainian medical professionals with the training and resources needed to respond to modern war injuries.

To date, MedGlobal has:

  • Trained more than 4,000 healthcare workers in trauma care, mass-casualty response, POCUS, polytrauma, and CBRNE readiness.
  • Delivered over $23 million worth of medical supplies and equipment to 524 health facilities.
  • Supported 119 hospitals and 15 medical universities across 20 regions.

This is capacity-building for the medical workforce — led by doctors, for doctors.

“I’m more afraid of what happens if people like me don’t do anything.” — Dr. Michael Samotowka

Why your Support Matters

Doctors everywhere understand what it means to stand in front of a patient who cannot wait. Ukrainian doctors are doing that daily — at a scale and complexity that challenges the limits of modern medicine.

“Often times it feels like I’m just doing a tiny, tiny drop, but I think about it — drop by drop rivers are made.” — Dr. Riley Jones

Your support becomes one more drop — strengthening clinical teams, improving survival care, and reinforcing the physicians carrying immense responsibility.

Stand with the colleagues you would trust beside you.
