Our Chapter, Sigma Chi Fraternity Eta Upsilon Chapter, is a tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501c7. Eta Upsilon is a college fraternity supported by dues paying members in order to provide an opportunity for members to commingle, engage in personal contact, and pursue common goals and aspirations. The Huntsman Cancer Foundation is a 501c3 tax-exempt entity that has been designated by the central organization (Sigma Chi) as the primary organization to be supported by the individual chapters (Sigma Chi fraternities) for philanthropy purposes.

Howdy!

My name is Wyatt Tomallo and I am a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Texas A&M University. I have the honor and privilege of organizing the Sigma Chi Derby Days this coming spring alongside co-chairman, Luke Bivens. Derby Days is our week-long philanthropy event where sororities compete in a variety of fundraising activities to raise money for all of our national philanthropic partners. This year Derby Days proceeds will be supporting the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, Sigma Chi's national philanthropy. Derby Days 2022 will be from Saturday, March 20th until Friday, March 25th.

Derby Days, established in 1933 at the University of California-Berkeley, offers an excellent opportunity for advertising and continued public relations while contributing to a deserving cause. Since its inception, Derby Days has raised millions of dollars on campuses in the United States and Canada for numerous philanthropies. In fact, such a program is a pioneer among men’s fraternities. Our chapter’s partnership with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation has helped to generate funds and awareness programs to eradicate cancer .

The Huntsman Cancer Foundation is a leader among cancer research institutes around the country, and has been Sigma Chi's national philanthropic partner since December of 2012. I have had the pleasure of working with them over the past two years while I have attended Texas A&M. What they do for families and children affected by cancer is invaluable. With support from others we hope to surpass $20,000 in fund-raising. We truly believe ourselves to be the generation to end cancer!
