Goal
Since moving to La Grande 20 years ago, I have been involved in directing, costuming and choreographing theatrical productions at EOU & LHS. I also was instrumental in helping to start both the Elgin Opera House and the EOH summer youth program. I'm also currently serving on the Grand Ronde Symphony board. I have been involved and in leadership positions with my church's youth program and the women's program, known as the Relief Society. It's also been one on my greatest pleasures to work and serve many of our senior citizens at the Grand Ronde Retirement Residence for many years. I'm currently employed at Dr Pettits opthamology office, where I continue to see many of the residents and can still assist with their healthcare needs.
When we moved to La Grande in September of 2002, I didn't realize what a very special town this would become to our family. We arrived with two of our girls in high school and one at EOU. It soon became one of the BEST moves we had ever made!! It's because of my love for La Grande, that I have decided to run for city council, position #6. After living in La Grande for 20 years, I feel that there are certain issues that haven't been addressed sufficiently, such as the importance of improving and maintaining our roads, snow removal, support for law enforcement, transparency of city budgets, developing our economy, and supporting all of La Grande businesses. Those are just a few of the issues that have become part of my platform.
