CZECH MEN'S LACROSSE NEEDS YOUR HELP TO GET TO THE 2023 WORLD LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SAN DIEGO!
The Czech Men's National Lacrosse Team has a full head of steam ahead of the 2023 Men's World Championships in California this summer. After running the table with a perfect 5-0 record at the 2022 European Qualifiers in Wroclaw, Poland last April, the Czechs have the talent and drive to make a big splash in San Diego this coming Summer.
However, due to the extreme costs of the event and traveling from the other side of the world, coupled with an unfavorable currency conversion, and huge salary discrepancies between countries, the individual players of this talented and dedicated team are in need of financial assistance. We need to raise $30,000 to cover the costs of travel, food, housing, uniforms, and equipment for all our players and coaching and support staff to put out a World-Championship level effort.
The Czech Republic has one of Europe's oldest and most lauded lacrosse programs. To imagine that financial strain is forcing elite athletes to choose between attending the games in San Diego or missing the sport's largest stage due to finances is an awful prospect.
Lacrosse is an amateur sport in the Czech Republic. Our veteran players are fathers and working men who cannot be forced to choose between playing and two months of salary to support their families. Our rising young stars are university students who's parents can't foot the bill for their sons to have the amazing opportunity to be international athletes at the World Championship level.
The Czech Republic has played host to thousands of visiting players from all over the world. If you've ever visited Prague or Radotin for one of our world-famous tournaments like the the Aleš HÅ™ebeský Memorial, Frank Menschner Cup, Prague Cup, or the European and World Championships and others, then you know what this game means to the players in this very special, unique community. We've always had an open door so that the best in the world could come visit and play against Czech players.
Now it's our turn to travel, and we hope that you'll consider helping us to meet our target so that we can put the best 23 players on that field, not just the 23 who can afford it.
