Curious Explorer Zone

Curiosity Shouldn't Come With a Price Tag

At Brown Toy Box, we believe every child deserves the freedom to explore the things that make them curious.

A child's opportunity to discover coding, engineering, art, science, cooking, robotics or something they haven't even imagined yet shouldn't be reserved for families who can afford it.

That's why we created the Curious Explorer Zone — a joyful, multigenerational third space where littles to legacies can come with nothing but their curiosity.

Here, a child might write their first line of code, conduct a science experiment, build a robot, discover the science of cooking, explore forensics, hear a story that sparks a new idea or meet someone doing a job they never knew existed.

And we want families to experience those moments without first having to ask:

“How much does it cost?”

Come With Nothing But Your Curiosity

Our goal is to provide free STEAM Saturdays, workshops, storytelling, hands-on learning experiences and community programming throughout the year.

Because sometimes one experience is all it takes.

One class can spark an interest.

One new skill can build confidence.

One introduction can open a world of possibility.

One afternoon of exploration can help a child imagine something entirely new about who they are becoming.

But while these experiences can be free to families, they aren't free to provide.

That's where our Community of Curiosity Cultivators comes in.

Every Gear Powers Every Discovery

Your tax-deductible gift to the Brown Toy Box Foundation helps fund instructors, program partners, materials, technology, supplies and hands-on experiences so that cost is not the barrier standing between curiosity and opportunity.

Help Us Keep Curiosity Accessible

The Curious Explorer Zone is more than a classroom.

It's a place to explore.

A place to wonder.

A place to catch your breath.

A place to discover something you didn't know you loved.

And a place where your zip code, your age or what your family can afford doesn't determine how much you're allowed to explore.

Choose your gear. Make your mark. Help us ensure that curiosity belongs to everyone.

Come curious. We'll take it from there.
