Honoring Heritage. Building the Future.
At Maricopa Village Christian School, we believe students thrive when their education connects both to who they are and who they can become. Our Piipaash (Pee-Posh) cultural immersion and STEAM learning programs work together to make that possible.
Cultural Immersion
The Pima (Akimel O’otham) and Maricopa (Piipaash) of the Gila River Indian Community, come from a long line of agricultural engineers whose innovation transformed the desert into fertile farmland through sophisticated canal and irrigation systems. Our cultural immersion classes honor that legacy by teaching students their language, traditions, stories, and identity. These lessons strengthen pride, preserve heritage, and help students understand the brilliance and resilience of their ancestors.
STEAM Experiences
Our STEAM program encourages the same spirit of creativity and innovation that defined their forebearers. Through hands-on activities, LEGO education kits, and STEAM projects, students learn to experiment, problem-solve, build, and imagine new possibilities. These skills not only boost academic confidence but also mirror the ingenuity of the canal builders who shaped this land.
