The Laurel Canyon Land Trust has entered into a purchase and sale agreement to acquire and permanently preserve two vacant parcels (approximately 5,000 square feet) at 8993 and 9009 W. Crescent Drive in Laurel Canyon (APN 5563-002-021 and 5563-003-005). The parcels are in Wildlife Habitat Block 61 mapped by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and deer and other animals frequent the parcels. The parcels are also home to an extensive walnut woodland mapped by the National Park Service. The Land Trust already owns five parcels (1.87 acres) on this same slope.
The purchase price is $40,000. We have already raised over $37,000 which includes a $20,000 contribution from the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority ("MRCA"). But, we need to raise an additional $4,933 by March 31, 2021. Can you help us raise the rest by making a donation? This will be the tenth acquisition project of the Land Trust since it was founded in 2017.
