Commissioning for Crash's Future
In 2027, Crash Ensemble turns 30.
To celebrate three decades of bold new music-making, we are launching CRASH30 - a special fundraising campaign to commission brand new music as part of our anniversary programme.
This initiative invests directly in the next generation of contemporary music in Ireland, continuing Crash’s long tradition of supporting adventurous composers and new ideas.
Our Goal
Raise €3,000 to commission 3 brand new pieces of music for Crash’s 30th Anniversary.
With your support, we will create three short new works that will premiere as part of our 2027 anniversary celebrations.
What We’re Creating
We will commission three composers to write three new pieces (approximately 3 minutes each) for one of Crash’s core ensemble sections: Strings | Wind | Rhythm
Each piece will be “unwrapped” as part of Crash’s 30th anniversary programme in 2027, revealing both the composer and the music for the first time.

With your €30 donation you will:
- Help unwrap a brand new musical commission
- Directly support composers
- Become part of the story in Crash’s milestone year
- Be recognised as a named supporter on the published digital score
- Receive a digital score extract signed by the composer
- Be listed as a named supporter on the Crash website
How Are the Composers Chosen?
The composers will be selected through an open call for Irish and Ireland-based composers.
The selection process will be:
- Blindly assessed by members of Crash Ensemble
- Composers apply to write for one of the three ensemble sections
- The selected composers remain “wrapped” and anonymous until they are officially unveiled during Crash’s 30th Anniversary programme
