Join us on Saturday 2nd May 2026 at 9am for Corky’s Donard Walk for The Well — a heartfelt fundraiser up Slieve Donard in Newcastle, Co Down, meet in Donard Car Park Newcastle, in support of suicide prevention, hope, and life-saving support across our communities.
This walk is about more than reaching the top of a mountain. It is about showing up for each other.
At The Well, we know that life can sometimes feel like a mountain of its own — steep, exhausting, lonely, and far too heavy to face alone. So many people know what it feels like to be carrying more than they can manage. So many families know what it means to worry in silence. So many people have had a day, a season, or a moment when they simply needed someone to say, “You are not alone.”
That is why this matters.
Here in our own area, the impact of suicide is painfully real. It is close to home. It affects our families, our friends, our neighbours and our communities. That is why support like this matters so deeply, and why we must keep showing up for one another.
Corky is leading this fundraiser with heart, courage and purpose, and we are proud to stand with him. He is lacing up his boots and taking on this climb to raise vital funds for The Well Suicide Prevention Charity — so we can keep being there for the people who need us most.
And the most important part is this: you do not need to do the full climb to be part of it. Walk a section. Come to the bottom and cheer people on.Join us for a cuppa at the start or finish.
