About Navadha School :
Navadha School is an inclusive charity English Medium (elementary) school located in in a rural village, in a severely impoverished community of Kalagachhia in West Bengal, India.
Our educational center empowers children who live in extreme poverty, hunger and generational illiteracy to receive food, uniforms, clothing, and quality education, providing life-changing opportunities for a better life. 90% of these children are the first in their lineage to go to school.
The school was founded by Building Dreams Foundation (BDF), a multi award-winning grassroots nonprofit organization that impacts the lives of thousands of people in great need for 10 years.
BDF's social achievements were featured in national and local news over 30 times. One of our proudest moments was receiving The Diana Award, in honor of late Princess Diana, for our humanitarian impact.
Since the launch of Nevadha School one year ago, the student body evolved from 20 to 140 young students. Dozens more children await enrollment, which requires expansion of infrastructure and donor support in order to accommodate more education-deprived students.
This is the first educational center in the region, where no one has ever attended school. The school provides students with everything they need in order to attain education, including healthy meals, uniforms, school and art supplies, sponsored by volunteers, donors and our nonprofit Save All Children International.
This campaign aims to bring hope, opportunity and positive change for children where generational illiteracy is a byproduct and the cause of extreme poverty, hunger and child labor.
Computer technology enables digital learning and unleashes children's educational superpower. Access to the worldwide web opens a window to the world and promotes curiosity, collaboration and co-creation among young students.
It is difficult to fathom for most Westerners that these children have never had an opportunity to go to school, to hold a pencil or a book or even a single toy in their little hands. They have never created art or participated in a play.
This is the first school built in the area, bringing real change and hope for a brighter future for generations to come. The impact of education is immeasurable for every child. Be our sunshine and help us share the gift of knowledge with children in need.
