Community Support Appeal
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We would like to draw your attention to an urgent and heartfelt matter concerning one of our community members. A family of 5.
A brother from our community has recently been detained by ICE and is currently in the process of deportation. He leaves behind his wife and three young children, including a newborn baby.
Our sister, who does not work, has suddenly found herself without financial support or income. Along with theemotional burden of caring for her children during this difficult time, she is also facing immediate financial hardship, including rent, daily expenses, food, baby items, utilities, etc.
This family was so humble, they did not ask for external support, to the point that our sister had her phone services disconnected due to non-payment.
To help relieve their situation, we are launching a community fundraiser with a goal of $7,000 to cover the following essential needs:
- Two months of rent
- Basic utilities
- Basic needs (groceries, diapers, other baby items, etc.)
- Travel expenses for the remaining family members once her husband is officially deported
The Prophet ﷺ said:
«مَنْ نَفَّسَ عَنْ مُؤْمِنٍ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ الدُّنْيَا، نَفَّسَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ»
Narrated by Muslim
“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter
.”
(Sahih Muslim)
