Join us this Black History Month as Colorwave reaffirms our commitment to closing the wealth gap and forging a path to economic equity for the Black community.
In just three short years, our efforts have yielded an average $42K salary increase and an estimated $10M in economic impact towards closing the wealth gap for BIPOC professionals.
- We’ve supported 440+ professionals through our flagship fellowship program with over seven cohorts and in 80+ cities across the U.S.
- Our offerings expanded to support early-stage entrepreneurs, and we introduced a new membership pathway to connect high-potential, underrepresented professionals to our hiring partner network.
The stats are clear. Despite comprising 13.4% of the U.S. population:
- Black workers represent a much smaller fraction of the technology and innovation sectors.
- Black households hold just $15 of wealth for every $100 of wealth held by White households.
- Black individuals hold less than 3% of the wealth in the U.S., underscoring the critical need for initiatives like Colorwave.
While our progress to date has been phenomenal, given our limited resources, we seek to expand our impact. In 2024, we intend to grow our fellowship and talent community by 300 new members while positioning our programming and resources to reach and support thousands annually.
We also seek to expand our support of entrepreneurs by creating a formal accelerator program for diverse, pre-seed, pre-accelerator founders and raise a micro-fund where our community members can gain exposure to venture investing by making investments in pre-seed companies on Colorwave's behalf.
Our achievements and ambitions are fueled by the generous contributions of our supporters like YOU! Individual donations comprise nearly 30% of our annual funding.
The impact of your support is tangible: $240 sponsors one of our career/negotiations coaching sessions for our members and $2,400 sponsors one fellow through our transformative 7-week fellowship.
As Black History Month prompts reflection on progress and the road ahead, we ask that you make a contribution to help us sustain and grow our programming in 2024 and beyond!
