Goal

Collective Climb is a 501(c)(3) organization empowering teenagers and amplifying young Black voices in West Philadelphia through restorative justice.

---

Matt and I were happy Collective Climb chose Camp Onas as a location for their fall retreat, and we loved sharing a space we love and call home with such a thoughtful, committed, and joyful group of young people.

Collective Climb, like many organizations serving Black youth, needs more robust, consistent, and reliable funding.

Camp Onas offered Collective Climb a reduced rental fee, to help a new, under-funded, youth-focused nonprofit see their retreat through.

Our goal with this campaign is to help ensure Collective Climb has enough financial  bandwidth to hold a retreat at Onas next year, and (we hope!) add in some facilitated time on our high ropes and challenge courses.

Our goal is symbolic - $2,102 - It represents the fee Collective Climb paid this year, plus the cost of a rental next year, adding in the facilitation for high ropes and/or challenge course activities, though Collective Climb can spend the funds wherever they are most needed.

Matt and I have decided to keep our year-end giving closer to home this year, and since Collective Climb left a strong impression on us when they were at Camp Onas, we're pledging to cover the amount of their 2021 rental ($702), and hoping our friends and loved ones will pitch in the difference between our contribution and the goal.

Collective Climb's programs equip teens and young adults as organizers, conflict mediators, and community leaders prepared to redress past harms and move our community closer to realizing Black joy, security, and freedom.

As our community continues to grapple with violence stemming from years of social disinvestment, we are leaning on them as the new leaders to power the way forward. The time for youth voices to direct the conversation is now. Join us in supporting two revolutionary youth leadership programs: The Restorative Community Project and the Youth Advisory Board.

The Restorative Community Project is a paid 3-month program teaching teens how to curb conflict through an anti-oppression lens. We begin with a restorative justice weekend summit before returning to Philly to connect their learning to direct actions in the community! Oh, and we still make it fun!

After completing the Restorative Community Project, participants are encouraged to join the Youth Advisory Board—a paid 6-month fellowship where they apply their knowledge to support our organizational direction and operations. The Youth Advisory Board receives $2,000 to organize a community event (Collective Kickback) focused on peace and communal healing in West Philadelphia.

100% of Collective Climb youth believe what we offer is necessary for young people in the community. That is why we need your help to sustain our work far into the future! If you feel moved by our mission, we would be honored to have you join our base. All donations will go directly toward youth stipends and program operations. Thank you so much!

All donations to Collective Climb are tax-deductible. Visit our website to learn how you can support by providing gifts of stardust (non-monetary contributions are valued immensely!)
