Portico Restoration Project

Help us restore the Portico! The Howland Cultural Center, and former library building, is currently undergoing a major preservation restoration project of its front portico. The renowned architect Richard Morris Hunt, who also designed the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, The Biltmore, The Breakers, a wing at the Louvre, and the Great Hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, designed this architectural gem.

The "Jewel of Beacon" has been welcoming visitors for over a 153 years, and needs financial support now more than ever. Contributions will help the Howland Cultural Center continue its mission in preserving this historic site. The first building in the City of Beacon listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Thank you for your donation!
