TIME100 climate, and the power of small donations

Rebecca Lindsey, our project director, made the TIME100 Climate 2025 list! Photo of Rebecca Lindsey standing against a white fence post.

What’s the list all about?

This list recognizes 100 innovative leaders driving climate action in 2025 and showcases the power of individuals to make significant progress in influencing the climate economy. The list includes the actor Samuel L. Jackson, the governors of New York and California, the presidents of Brazil and Suriname, King Charles III, and the Pope! See the full TIME100 Climate 2025 list here.

Reading about all the passionate, smart, creative people working through governments, businesses, and nonprofits to confront the challenge of human-caused climate change is a great way to end the week. It will give you hope.

And don’t forget to pat yourself on the back. It’s your support that is making this effort a reality.

Gifts that keep on giving

Earlier this week, I dug into some of the details of the donations to our crowd-sourcing fund, and was astonished to discover that hidden behind the current total—$164,651 as of October 31—was a shiny surprise: 227 people had committed to making a monthly donation. Amounts ranged from $3 to $100 dollars. Combined?

That’s $4,800 per month!

It’s the perfect example of how even small donations can make things possible when a community comes together. We’re honored by your commitment to sustained support of our effort to keep trustworthy climate information online and easy to find. A special thank you to these monthly donors. If you want to join them, click the Donate button on this page.

Help us grow! Consider making a post on October 24.

October 24 is International Day of Climate Action

We're a small team taking on powerful forces that want to keep you from knowing the facts about our changing climate. One thing we have that they don't is YOU.

We’re asking our community to help spread our message in your own words, because you're an important part of this story.

We’ve created a simple Social Media Kit with draft posts, images, and hashtags. Use it to make your own post and tell your friends why you care about climate facts and why you support Climate.us.

Imagine thousands of supporters all posting together—each in their own words. That’s how we grow trust and awareness together. We'd like you to consider posting on October 24 for International Day of Climate Action, but a post on any day is welcome.

Thanks for helping build this movement,

--The Climate.us Team

$10K donor match challenge

Right now, a generous supporter will be matching every donation to Climate.us up to $10,000!

During this campaign, every gift will be doubled dollar for dollar.

Your $5 becomes $10. Your $25 becomes $50.

Together? Your $10,000 becomes $20,000!

When you give today, your support will go twice as far to expand our reach, grow our community, and build the long-term tools needed to safeguard climate resources for everyone.

If you haven’t yet donated, now would be a great time: your gift today will double your impact. But this match is about more than dollars—it’s about people standing together to fight censorship.

One donor believes so strongly in protecting trustworthy climate information that they’re inspiring others to join the fight. Together, we can safeguard these vital resources and make sure that when people need science-backed answers to what’s happening with the climate, they’ll be able to find them on Climate.us.

Rescuing the Fifth National Climate Assessment

Here's something to celebrate! Today, we've brought the website of the Fifth National Climate Assessment back online. Explore it @ nca5.climate.us.

The assessment, which was released by the U.S. Global Change Research Program in 2023, is the most recent "state of the science" report on climate change impacts and risks to the United States. The website was taken offline by the Trump administration in early 2025.

Thank you! We’re off to an incredible start.

Two weeks ago, you helped us launch this project with one urgent mission: fight back against critical climate resources being hidden or erased.

Because of your support, we’ve already made remarkable progress:

  • $73,000 raised in just the first two weeks
  • 840 donations fueling our work
  • 920 subscribers joining our community
  • nearly 10,000 social media followers amplifying the message
  • international supporters stepping up to show this is a global priority.

And people are taking notice. Our work has been featured in CNN, The Guardian, and Forbes, and we were interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered. This momentum is thanks to you.

Your early support proves that people care deeply about protecting trustworthy climate information. Every share helps us reach more people who care. Every subscription helps us build a community. And every donation allows us to invest in the tools needed to secure these resources for the long term.

What’s next for us?

We’ve already begun the process of cloning and migrating the NCA5 (Fifth National Climate Assessment) website to a new home. We hope to make it public-facing in the next few weeks, an exciting first step toward fighting back.

What's next for you?

For now, the most helpful thing you can do (besides donating) is simple: share our campaign with friends and colleagues (especially if you know MacKenzie Scott)! You are our best messengers.

From all of us working to save and protect the truth: thank you.
