Chumisa is based in Khayelitsha, an apartheid-created township near Cape Town, South Africa. Khayelitsha embodies resilience in the face of formidable challenges. It battles 70% unemployment, pervasive food insecurity, and inadequate waste management. Our initiative provides a sustainable solution that sparks both environmental and economic progress. Join us in empowering Khayelitsha through vermicomposting!
Our innovative household composting program will reduce food waste, help local farmers grow more food, and provide supplemental income for township residents. We'll be both contributing to our planet's health and bringing economic prosperity to local households.
