Hi everyone!
Thank you all so much for all of the encouragement and support!
Charlotte Family Clinic is an unincorporated nonprofit 501c3 organization cofounded and operated by Kelli Garza, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, and Jose Villa, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC. Both are board-certified family nurse practitioners.
According to datausa.io, the current 2021 population of Atascosa County is 49,528 people. There is a 1 to 2,131 ratio of primary care providers to residents. That is approximately 23 providers for 50 thousand people. https://datausa.io/profile/geo/charlotte-tx
Currently, there are no healthcare providers located in Charlotte and no readily available public transportation. This lack of access makes it difficult for the citizens of Charlotte to receive needed healthcare services. Research has shown that being seen by a healthcare provider can significantly reduce the risk of developing chronic health conditions, which in most cases are easily preventable through regularly scheduled healthcare visits and proper health education.
The mission of the Charlotte Family Clinic is to make healthcare accessible and affordable. The clinic will provide primary health care services to patients of all ages. Services will include annual wellness exams, sick visits, chronic disease management, wellness and nutritional counseling, sports physicals, mental health, women’s health, and DOT physicals. We provide all the basic healthcare services any other physician-owned clinic provides, including in-house lab draws.
How your donation will be used:
- Purchasing and renovating a mobile clinic (short-term goal) and acquiring a brick-and-mortar clinic building (long-term goal).
- Medical and office supplies, furniture, and equipment
- Operating expenses
