We need your help - our community and friends of do-ers, dreamers and risk-takers! Irena and myself (Jake) took a huge risk and left it all behind in the US to come to Tulum, Mexico - the mystical Mexican Caribbean full of jungle, fresh water cenotes and some of the softest sand and bluest beaches in the world ... we came here to start from scratch, learn new skills and a new language and follow our hearts!
We became small business entrepreneurs 4 years ago! Our brand, Chale Cold Brew, specializes in bottled cold brewed coffee made with the highest quality Mexican ingredients. We loved drinking great coffee living in Portland, Oregon – but upon coming to Mexico, well-crafted specialty coffee was difficult to find - and most people were just drinking instant coffee produced by large corporations or even coca-cola for breakfast! And many of the products around were being marketed through a very western/american lens. So we embarked on finding the best ingredients possible and crafting the most authentic, delicious cold brew we could - a product and brand that would reflect and celebrate the creativity and originality of the Mexican culture. There was this whole other way of drinking coffee – cold, fresh, strong – but it hadn’t arrived to Mexico yet! We felt people deserved to drink better coffee so we decided to make our own. We source our beans direct and work with organic farmers in Chiapas and brew our cold brew with some of the purest, freshest water — Purified Rainwater from the Caribbean jungle! We have been bottling in recycled glass bottles and have a truly sustainable operation. Social impact and giving back to the community are greatly important to us - 10% of sales goes towards the support of our local communities and suppliers in Chiapas and the Yucatan through clean water, sustainable farming, and education initiatives.
Over the past 4 years, we have experienced it all! The super highs and the super lows! ‘CHALE’ is a Mexican expression to show surprise or disbelief at something. When life is unpredictable and stuff just doesn’t turn out the way you imagined - there’s always a bright side or learning you can take from it. Being foreigners and entrepreneurs wasn’t//isn’t easy but ‘CHALE’, stuff happens! Stay positive, find a solution, learn from your mistakes, and always keep laughing! We bring that perspective with us each day. 2020, my gosh!, has definitely been full of ‘CHALE’ moments! 
But what can we do – keep focused on your goals, stay happy and healthy and try to help those around you do the same!
We’ve had a lot of great connections with our community, and you’re why we keep producing and can keep sharing our energy! We try to be as ‘real’ and original as possible. We want to share this positive CHALE lifestyle through a delicious product that can elevate your health and vibrant spirit! A product and brand you feel proud to stand alongside and share with your circle! We want to grow as a company and reach as many people as we can - and we want to help people reach their full potential. Caffeine is our drug of choice - and brewed cold ... it makes the sensation smoother, more euphoric and last longer. It gets those brain chemicals flowing in the right direction!
We set a goal to become the first Mexican cold brew coffee in a can! A canned product is safer for the environment and is a higher quality and more efficient vessel for our product, so it always remains fresh! After 4 years of development and continued improvement, we’re so close to reaching our goal. We have made partnerships with local breweries to help us with larger production batches. Made proto-types. And have made sales pitches to regional grocery and convenience chains. Now, we just need a bit more capital to make it all happen! Blank cans, lables, boxes, mucho café and agua, production run costs, small machine, storage, logistics, marketing, etc.
We are asking for donations from our community to help us make this exciting new step!
