We have procured some land in the Thies region of Senegal, in the community of Diass in the village of Daga Tanguiss. On this land, we hope to build a unique school that will answer many of the problems we are currently facing in education.
This school will be an academy for 21st Century skills such as innovation, creativity, and bilingualism.
The school will be a hub for training teachers and providing a 21st Century education to students worldwide. Further, Senegalese children in the community where the school is located will be able to attend for free.
We believe that several problems in education worldwide can be answered through a strategic, systems approach. Through our projects and programs, we are building a globally interconnected educational ecosystem that is learner-centered for the 21st Century and that answers three of the most pressing issues in education currently:
Critical teacher shortages
Equitable access to education both at the k-12 and post-secondary levels
The critical need for 21st Century skill-building, which include:
Language instruction at the elementary level
Increased Culturally Responsive and Social-Emotional Learning Practices and Pedagogies
Experiential learning models that promote creativity and incorporate Universal Design for Learning.
The education model for this school will be 100% experiential learning with a dual language component, wholly focused on the Language with the Five Senses Method and 21st Century Framework for Education.
Building a school in Senegal costs approximately $30,000. We are raising $50,000 to build the school and start our first school year. It is our goal to open the school for the first students in July 2023.
