Thank You for Holding Us in Your Hearts
We are headed into our fourth week of Hurricane Helene Relief Work. In response to the incredible need, we are increasing our fundraising goal to $50,000.00. This amount will allow us to continue to offer
There is a shift in the air. A feeling of immense gratitude and the weight of sorrow. .
In the last month, we have fed hundreds of people a daily hot meal, and have offered showers and laundry to many. Our Decompression Support Circle has been very popular to help those holding tremedous grief and exhaustion an opportunity for deeply held space for being witnessed, and hearing others' stories in compassion. Those circles often start with a word from everyone at the beginning and end, and often, gratitude is a favorite word at the end.
We are now faced with working through the tremendous job of cleaning after Helene's destruction and creating anew. There is a encroaching sense of exhaustion. Too much sorrow, too many scenes of destruction, too much loss. And yet, communities are continuing to gather together to help one another and fill the needs that will exist for months and months.
We are moving back into other supportive offerings including drumming, breathing, bodywork and more. Stay tuned for many of our members who have offered space prior to the Hurricane, to begin offering again as October comes to a close.
Please send this link far and wide so that we can continue to help those with critical needs, and expand our grief and loss support services.
For now, we simply want to say thank you—we love you, and we are deeply grateful that you are holding us in your hearts.
With gratitude,
The Center for Conscious Living & Dying team
