Carpathia Folk Dance Ensemble Fundraiser for Ukraine - Daar Foundation

Welcome to our Carpathia Folk Dance Ensemble fundraising page! This year, we are supporting Daar Foundation, an organization that has been doing charitable work in Ukraine for over twenty years.

Carpathia started in 2011, and we specialize in dances from Central and Eastern Europe. We are all volunteers who love dancing, different cultures, and want to share our passion with others. When the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, we organized 3 fundraisers to help Ukraine. Several of our dancers are Ukrainian or have connections to Ukraine, so collecting these funds is our way of showing our solidarity with Ukraine and condemning the terrible war started by Russia.

Daar Foundation was originally founded over twenty years ago to benefit disadvantaged youth in Ukraine and to fund Ukrainian cultural projects. In 2014 after Russia’s occupation of Crimea and invasion of the Donbas region, Daar shifted gears to provide assistance to the frontlines of the conflict. After the full scale war began last year, Daar mobilized to provide humanitarian aid on a much larger scale, to those Ukrainians remaining in-country in the conflict zones.

Entirely run and staffed by volunteers, Daar Foundation sources donated or heavily discounted items for shipment to Ukraine, including medical supplies, medicine, food, generators, and other badly needed items. Daar’s network of volunteers and partner NGOs on the ground in Ukraine are distributing these shipments across all regions to aid the millions of Ukrainians enduring this nightmare.
