Hi, I'm Caroline!
I'm a former PGCPS teacher and a current PGCPS parent running for the District 2 seat on the Prince George's County Board of Education. The most important thing to know about me? I love Prince George's County.
I started my career right here in a PGCPS second-grade classroom, and I believe our neighborhood schools can and must work for every student — regardless of zip code, race, origin, or disability status. For the past decade, I've championed equity from the halls of Congress to state government — designing programs, shaping policy, managing budgets, and developing great teachers who know how to teach all students well.
I am also a proud PGCPS parent, and I feel the urgency every family in the district feels. I want every one of us to wake up on the first day of school excited about where our children are headed. I want every caretaker to feel genuinely enthusiastic and confident in their neighborhood school. That is personal to me.
As your District 2 Board member, I will leverage what I've learned from years of work across a variety of educational contexts in this region to champion a system that works for every student, at every school, each and every day. I will:
- Emphasize developing and retaining great teachers in PGCPS by advocating for grow-your-own initiatives that develop talent from our local communities and fighting for competitive compensation;
- Advocate for equitable staffing, funding, and programs to ensure every student is met where they are and makes meaningful academic gains- whether they need support to access grade-level content or are ready for more accelerated learning;
- Focus relentlessly on the well-being and safety of each student to ensure every classroom is a space where students know they belong and are surrounded by adults who believe in them.
At the end of the day, I want our students to be physically safe, emotionally supported, and academically prepared to chase their wildest dreams.
This is why I'm running to be your next District 2 Board of Education member. I bring real experience, real commitment, and real relationships, and I believe that every student in PGCPS should receive a world-class education.
