Reef Life Foundation believes all ocean animals deserve a home. Globally, coral reefs are dying at unprecedented rates, leaving marine species and coastal communities without food or storm protection. To combat this, we developed an unprecedented coral reef restoration system called IntelliReefs that fosters new coral growth, increases fish abundance & enhances biodiversity.
Every donation directly supports our campaign, "Building Homes for the Ocean's Homeless" which involves the restoration of degraded coral reefs & kelp forests.

OUR OCEAN HOMES: What are IntelliReefs?
IntelliReefs, inspired by natural ecosystems, are innovative marine structures crafted with Oceanite—a restoration substrate perfected over two decades of nano-material expertise in collaboration with leading coral laboratories. IntelliReefs proudly holds the only UNESCO-endorsed marine substrate, with official recognition for our Coral Reef Restoration Project #112 under the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science (2021-2030). Recognized on the United Nations SDG Partnership Page [Ocean Action #40781], we're part of the global effort addressing Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 14 (Life Below Water), & SDG 5 (Gender Equality & Women's Empowerment).
THE PROBLEM:
Globally, coral reefs are dying at unprecedented rates, leaving marine species and coastal communities without food or storm protection. Reefs continue to degrade because we continue to take too much fish, and leave behind pollution and excess nutrients. On coral reefs, the effects of these issues are made worse by rising carbon emissions, which are making our oceans warmer and more acidic every year. Artificial reefs are being deployed around the world in an attempt to build back underwater habitats that have been lost or severely degraded. Around the world, massive kelp beds are rapidly declining due to coastal development and erosion, warming waters, invasive species, poor water quality, pollution, and overfishing. As a consequence of losing these lush underwater forests, fisheries and ocean-based economies.
THE SOLUTION:
Within months, IntelliReefs coral gardens provide critical homes for biodiverse marine plants and animals, supporting increased fish aggregation and natural coral settlement. Working with IntelliReefs, we are also building back habitat that attracts and retains kelp plants in the face of climate change. (Scientists found after only 14 months, IntelliReefs grew more biodiverse marine life than nearby natural reefs!)
