Help us continue the strongest MSA tradition in Texas!

As a Texas-based regional council, we host the MSA Showdown every spring to provide a space for friendly and healthy competition for thousands of Muslim students. We continue to grow the Texas intercollegiate Muslim network through intentional opportunities in building communities and showcasing student talent.

Our Story 

The MSA Lone Star Council is the sole umbrella organization for collegiate Muslim Student Associations in Texas. Every year, our organization serves over 25 different MSAs and thousands of college students by facilitating opportunities for educational endeavors, competitions, art showcases, and professional development. Our community has done a great job of providing spaces for our brothers and sisters to congregate, but there aren't as many opportunities to promote the arts and create environments for healthy expression. We aim to be a major force in changing this landscape!


This year’s Showdown will host a variety of competitions including an e-sports tournament, more brothers’ and sisters’ sports (gender segregated), a Shark Tank-like philanthropic event, and a vendors bazaar! This is a fantastic opportunity to explore new and innovative ways to engage students of all backgrounds. We're extremely excited about this new approach and can't wait to see what our students think about the experience!


How Your Funds Will Be Used

All funds will be used to reward and assist students during Showdown such as providing meals on-site, waiving registration fees, and cash or in-kind prizes for winners of different competitions. Funds will also be used to support costs associated with the Showdown logistics such as facility fees, gifts for judges, and speaking fees. Any funds left at the end of the event will be redirected to LSC's summer/fall programming, including the MSA Organizational Summit, which is our annual leadership retreat.
