Over the past 2 years, we have been hard at work preparing to open a Healthcare Clinic in The Gambia. We are very grateful announce Kairo Clinic! Kairo means "Peace" in the Mandinka language. This effort is the culmination of 12 years of providing free healthcare to the local population by our global communities (we are especially grateful to those in Spain). We are now at a stage where we have built a physical building, hired a Managing Physician, Nurses, and a Pharmacist. We have locally secured supplies and medicine to have a fully operational clinic/ urgent care center.
The Clinic will be overseen and run by our newly formed NGO - Sustainable Gambia. The Clinic includes a Women's Health Wing (pre-natal care), and also has dedicated space for a Dentist, General Practitioner, and Pharmacy.
After generous private donations from a few, The Oasis Initiative is collecting the remaining funds to be used for the following:
1) Purchase medical equipment and furniture;
2) Purchase and store medicine and supplies; and,
3) Manage and support healthcare staff and coordination of future Medical Missions at the new Clinic site.
