Support Our COVID-19 Response Efforts

BPNC's Promotoras de Salud program has been vital to the agency’s community response to the COVID-19 pandemic. They maintain contact with community families through telephone, video chats, text messaging, and social media platforms to inform them about COVID-19 relief and support resources offered by BPNC or other community partners. They have served as a critical tool for community members to get connected with vital resources, have questions answered, or overall help reduce worries and anxieties during the pandemic. Specifically,  Health Promoters: 1) Facilitate weekly virtual workshops to provide up-to-date vaccine information. 2) Provide virtual “Talk to a Doc/Habla con una Doctora” sessions with the support of our partners, Esperanza Healthcare Centers and UIC Health, to effectively address community concerns and provide in-depth answers to specific health-related questions. 3) Disseminate bilingual multimedia resources to community schools and local businesses with culturally-appropriate vaccine information.

The Brighton Park community has experienced some of the highest rates of COVID-19 in the State of Illinois. Not because of a lack of consideration. Not because of an absence of caution. But because of inequities and insufficient resources for our community residents. Thanks to the generosity of local institutions and individuals like you, we have been able to address the critical needs of hundreds of families impacted by the pandemic. Here are some of our impact numbers as of January 2021.

Support School-Based Mental Health

We know this is a challenging time for all, but prioritizing mental health services is more important now than ever. Students, families, and teachers all require our support more now than ever before.

  • Students require additional support in coping with school closures and remote-learning plans, which have turned routines and peer interactions upside down.
  • Families require additional support as pre-existing stressors and financial hardships have intensified in the wake of the pandemic.
  • Teachers require additional support to effectively identify and address students’ mental health needs in a remote setting.
Your donation will directly support our mission and help ensure there are better days ahead.
