Battery Operated Systems for Community Outreach Uganda (BOSCO-U) is a faith-based, non-profit organization based in Gulu, Uganda.
We began in 2007 as an intervention to end the isolation of people in Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camps through wireless computing which was powered by solar energy. Over the years, we've evolved to meet the changing needs of the communities we serve, but our core mission has remained the same: empowering individuals and communities through the provision of ICT training, internet connectivity, and digital resources.
Today, BOSCO Uganda continues to be a beacon of digital inclusion, working tirelessly to ensure that the rural communities of Northern Uganda are not left behind in the digital age. Our journey is a testament to the power of technology, community, and the human spirit.
BOSCO is committed to developing ICT knowledge and skills, providing sustainable energy, and expanding access to the Internet for all of Northern Uganda. With 56 ICT Centers, 5 Energy Sites, and over 100,000 ICT Beneficiaries, we have just stepped foot in the gateway of revitalizing the digital age in Uganda. However, we need your help! Although we have proven our capabilities of being widespread across Uganda, the network and power we provide are not of the quality we desire. Thus, it creates a challenge in attracting communities to learn more about their culture, different life skills, and essential ICT skills. BOSCO Uganda would not be possible without the help of the people, now help us repay our gratitude by providing the ICT capabilities Uganda deserves.
