If you love music and the feeling of discovering a new artist; you need to become a part of the Boarded Up Foundation mission which is to Produce, Promote, and Preserve music. Boarded Up Foundation is a Dallas based nonprofit foundation that works to positively impact the music arts community by providing unsigned artists a venue to produce live music and a platform for music fans to discover new music they may have not heard otherwise. Since the shutdown caused by the pandemic in 2020, we have been producing roughly 4-8 live music videos for artists a month for FREE on our YouTube channel, Boarded Up Music, which acts as a catalog for new music and to preserve the music of our time.
There’s much more that we do here; generating websites, booking and promoting our artists, and providing career guidance. Our team is built of former and practicing musicians, who not only want to make a real impact in their community but whom also deeply understand the hardships that artists are faced with. We strive to generate impactful positive growth for the music community by breaking down the walls that musicians deal with daily. We believe everyone should have the same chance to succeed regardless of their financial situation.
One music video shoot can cost $2,000 to produce, which can be extremely hard to fund for a musician who is struggling to make a living while also propelling their career. At Boarded Up, a $2,000 donation can cover the costs of one live music video shoot for an artist; from the preparation, to the shoot, to editing the four videos! Even a donation of $100 would allow us to build a website for a deserving artist.
All contributions we receive go directly into all of our efforts; it allows us to staff our camera and editing crew, to purchase necessary equipment and computer programs, to pay for website hosting, etc. At this point in our journey, we’ve produced more than 100 videos completely for free for artists as well as developed multiple websites. We hope to introduce even more projects to music lovers everywhere with more help from people like you!
