Join Black Girls CODE (BGC) as we equip young girls to level up in the tech world.
After an exciting Summer where we returned to in-person programming at CAMP, we can’t wait to meet our girls in the classroom this fall! To honor this momentous return, we want to share more with you about our programming, how we’re helping close the digital divide, and how our girls are Leveling Up. With a fundraising goal of $50,000, BGC strives to make sure that young Black girls are prepared to lead and make decisions in the influential tech field. Today we are kicking off Level Up, a campaign to support programs like our in-person CODE Clubs, chapters, and more.
Our programs help girls ages 7 - 17 from underrepresented communities to learn computer programming and technology. It’s our mission to build pathways for Black girls to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to computer programming and technology skills. In 2023, we will reach approximately 5,500 girls via our programming and we are just getting started!
Your support will give young girls a chance to compete for better-paying jobs and achieve financial sustainability. Over the next two weeks, we will be sharing updates around our chapter programs, CODE Clubs, and the wonderful people who make our programs possible.
With your help, our girls can Level Up and make their mark in the tech world!
About Black Girls CODE:
We build pathways for young women of color to embrace the current tech marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer programming and technology.
Radical action is needed if we are to close the opportunity gap for Black women and girls. We lead a global movement to establish equal representation in the tech sector. Black Girls CODE is devoted to showing the world that Black girls can code and do so much more. Together, we are creating stronger economies and more equitable societies—ultimately realizing the true potential of democracy through diversity and inclusion.
