As Nikos approaches his 44th birthday on October 29, we have a heartfelt opportunity to honor a man whose life is devoted to rescuing and caring for dogs in need. Since he rescued his first dog, Bronx, from a life of neglect and chains, Nikos has transformed the lives of countless animals, providing them with love, safety, and a second chance. His journey has been one of immense sacrifice, boundless love, and unwavering commitment.
Today, Nikos faces a critical challenge. The shelter, which has become a sanctuary for 270 dogs, is located in an area that was devastated by flooding in 2020. And potential flooding in the future is threatening the dogs living conditions, making it urgent to secure new land where they can live safely and happily. Our goal is to raise €5,000 to purchase this much-needed land, where we can create secure play areas, provide better shelter, and continue to give these animals the care they deserve. It will also give Nikos the opportunity to create more playa areas where the dogs can explore and thrive outside of their kennels.
Nikos’ days are filled with hard work and dedication. He often puts the needs of the dogs above his own, sometimes forgetting to eat or take breaks as he tends to their needs. Each dog has a story that tugs at the heartstrings—many have been abandoned, abused, or left to fend for themselves. They come to Nikos seeking safety and love, and he opens his heart and home to them.
