Be An #ArtsHero is completely volunteer run. We have anywhere between 40-75 people working around the clock to help us do this crucial advocacy work.
Additionally, the founders and leaders have been spending their own personal money on web-hosting, graphics software, permits, legal fees, and so many other out of pocket expenses. We would love to be able to be reimbursed for money that we have spent and be able to show our gratitude to our tireless volunteers with honorariums or even 1099 compensations.
As we grow faster than we could ever imagine, we are realizing that this organization is needed-- not just to represent the entire Arts & Culture sector for pandemic relief, but in rebuilding after this crisis is over. We recognize that this work may take years, and that we must become a functioning Arts & Culture lobbying organization with employees and salaries-- this advocacy work is all-consuming and those working with us should be able to work with us while knowing that they can pay their rent on time.
