There's been a lot going on behind the scenes on the mural project over the last few months! Not only did Darryl graduate from high school and head out to college (go Darryl!), the project he kicked off became fully funded thanks to a grant from Five Star Basketball (https://www.
The courts were resurfaced by Baltimore Recreation and Parks last fall in preparation for the mural. And now it's GO TIME! Base coat painting commences this weekend, and the over the coming week or so, reps from Project Backboard and the mural's artist, Jordan Law, will be working with volunteers to paint the mural. We're looking ahead to an "Opening Day" celebration in mid to late October - stay tuned for details, because YOU are invited!
