Thank you to everyone who donated! We held our first Stop the Bleed training this past Thursday. Nine more people have the skills to assist someone with a life-threatening bleed. They learned how and when to use a tourniquet, pack a wound or use compressions only. Thanks to all of you, they were each given an IFAK to take with them. These kits include tourniquets, gauze and other tools to help in an emergency. We hope to get more trainings happening soon!
We've been really appreciative of how much supportive our community has been. We are updating our goal as we see a current need for IFAK kits in our local communities. We are hoping to raise $1000 dollars with the goal of building IFAK kits that we can distribute in communities affected by recent gun violence. Our goal will be to provide some community-based Stop the Bleed trainings and distribute bleed control kits (IFAKs) to those living and working in areas experiencing increased gun violence.
