Masters and students on the same stage, playing Joe's music.
Wherever the Heritage Sessions play, a student plays with us. They learn the music at home, prove it at soundcheck, and get paid on the bandstand. Your gift pays student stipends and the band's rehearsal time, so every stage is ready for them.
Coming up:
Detroit, November 13 and 14, with a Wayne State student at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms.
Houston, February 6, with the five students of the Houston Heritage Youth Session, led by Big Al Campbell, at Rockefellers.
$35: an hour of rehearsal room for the band
$100: a student sits in with us for one night
$150: a student plays a full set
$750: a full youth ensemble set, five students
$1,000: chair sponsor. Your name on holican.io/cultural and in The Bandstand, a Funky Rhodes shirt, and a photo with the band at a Heritage Session you attend.
Anything beyond this season's goal goes to the Foundation's youth program.
