AUSSEF is auspiced by THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF VICTORIA INCORPORATED, endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) in Australia from 01 Jul 2000. It is covered by Items 1 & 4 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 .
Australian Science & Engineering Fair (AUSSEF)

Since 1999, 177 Australian finalists have participated in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest pre-college student science competition convened by the USA’s Society for Science. Of these Australian finalists, 55 have won Grand awards totalling USD $168,350 and 36 have won Sponsored Awards and Scholarships.

AUSSEF was urgently established in September 2022 by a group of passionate volunteers to provide Australia’s only national ISEF-affiliated science and engineering fair and a pathway for our most talented and high performing STEM students to represent Australia at ISEF. In December 2023, nine exceptional Australian student projects were identified from close to 100 excellent entries. These projects include a regional team from Darwin High School, who are the first to represent the Northern Territory in 25 years of Australian representation.

Funding is now required to enable this team of three NT students and eight projects from other talented STEM students to form the AUSSEF team to represent Australia and travel to present their work at ISEF 2024, in Los Angeles, with three experienced teacher chaperones. Your donation towards these expenses is tax-deductible in Australia thanks to the auspicing support of the Royal Society of Victoria, one of Australia’s longest-established science societies, a registered charity and a Deductible Gift Recipient for tax purposes in Australia. This is a wonderful opportunity to help bright young people overcome economic barriers and foster their further achievements – we would be so grateful for your support.

AUSSEF is also seeking business, government, professional or individual partners to fund the AUSSEF team, and to help us grow AUSSEF to be the pinnacle Australian STEM program to inspire school students to excel in genuine scientific and engineering research. A sponsorship or tax-deductible donation of $10,000 will enable your organisation to become a Gold ISEF individual sponsor or donor, and that will cover the costs of one ISEF finalist or chaperone.

This form is provided to accept tax-deductible donations from individuals or organisations. To discuss sponsorship, please email us.  AUSSEF will work with each Sponsor to develop a mutually beneficial package with promotion of your organisation and collaborations with other like-minded organisations to strengthen STEM student capacity. Together, we can build STEM student capability right across Australia and spread your company’s value to science and society.
