Our Ambassadors are local volunteers — family members, spouses, and community advocates — who serve as the public face and provide boots-on-the-ground support for Working Dogs For Vets. Ambassadors like Roxann Sanders (with her dog, Monte) act as trainers, conduct in-home visits, help evaluate and support teams, and report outcomes back to WDFV. These volunteers expand program capacity, create safe local support networks for veterans, and help bridge the gap between training and everyday life. Your gift funds ambassador training, ID badges, outreach materials, travel stipends, and ongoing supervision so more veterans get the consistent, compassionate support they need.
Roxann Sanders and Monte —
“I apprenticed as a trainer and I’m working with Monte in hopes he will become my service dog.” — Ambassador Roxann Sanders
“As the daughter of an army veteran with dementia and PTSD, I know firsthand how powerful compassionate support can be. I volunteer with WDFV because veterans deserve every chance at healing and independence.” — Roxann Sanders
